Benita graduated cum laude with her BA LLB degree from the University of Witwatersrand in 2013, and won the Gildenhuys Lessing Malatji award for the highest mark obtained in the subject Evidence. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Information and Communications Law.
She commenced her articles in 2014 at Sharusha Moodley Attorneys, then in association with Bregman Moodley Attorneys, where her foundation in the legal practice was formed.
Upon completion of her articles, she was admitted as an attorney in 2016, and subsequently joined Bregman Moodley Attorneys where she now heads up her own litigation department.
Benita has experience in commercial litigation (High Court and Magistrates’ Court), Family Law (divorce, parental responsibilities and rights and maintenance), Labour Law (conciliation and arbitration matters at the CCMA, labour court matters, and the chairing of disciplinary hearings).
