Alicia Koch graduated from the University of Johannesburg in 2006 after obtaining her undergraduate B.Com Law degree (at the then Rand Afrikaans University) and later her post graduate LLB where she achieved exemplary results. She then completed her articles at Mark Harris Attorneys in 2009 after being exposed to various lease and rental agreements taking her as far as the Supreme Court of Appeal.
During her articles she completed her board exams achieving in the top graduating percentile for her group. After being admitted as an attorney of the High Court (and being granted right of appearance in the High Court) in April 2009, Alicia found her legal feet at Lazzara Leicher Inc, a small but niche legal firm based in Melrose.
After a year, Alicia accepted a position at Jay Mothobi Incorporated, a medium sized and well known law firm in Rosebank where she headed up the collections department, in charge of the call centre and being the attorney briefed by various Commercial Banks and financial institutions. During her three year tenure at Jay Mothobi, Alicia moved away from collections and the call centre and focused mainly on contract work, including but not limited to the drafting, reviewing and amending of same as well as general commercial litigation.
Some of her more noteworthy matters, (one of which involved an insolvent gold mine and the other a local winter ski type resort) were featured in various news publications. Alicia was also seconded to a well-known Commercial Bank for three months during which time she decided to remove herself from the world of litigation and enter a more streamlined approach to contracts and business as a whole. In October 2013, Alicia decided to start her own consulting practice where she could focus on specific aspects of her speciality to her hearts content.
Alicia now focuses on the drafting, reviewing, maintenance and management of various forms of contracts on behalf of various organisations on a basis to suit their specific needs and requirements.
