Sasha graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2016 with a BA LLB (with distinction). She majored in English and Psychology for her BA undergraduate degree. She was admitted as an attorney in the High Court of South Africa in July 2019 and now heads up the Family Law department at Bregman Moodley Attorneys.
Her undergraduate degree in psychology has given her an empathetic edge when dealing with sensitive family matters. She is fully aware that family law issues, especially those dealing with minor children, are different from any other legal matter type. In family law, there is no winner and no loser. She aims to keep the integrity of the family unit to the best of her ability and amicably resolve as many matters as possible for the sake of the minor children, whose best interests always stand at the forefront of any decision making when it comes to legal issues. She assesses every case differently as there is no one size fits all formula concerning family law matters, specifically regarding divorce matters. Sasha aims to educate and guide each client to achieve an optimal divorce outcome whilst remaining amicable and even friendly with their soon to be ex-spouse.
Sasha is skilled at drafting parenting plans and settlement agreements and often must develop unique and case sensitive wording and clauses to conform to the family’s lifestyle and particular circumstances.
In addition to divorce matters, Sasha’s specialties include:
- Guardianship applications
- Maintenance issues
- Applications for contact and parental responsibilities and rights
- Drafting of wills
- Drafting parenting plans
- Variation of settlement agreements
- Children’s court matters
